SJTPO is seeking an experienced professional for a full-time position that will be responsible for the following program areas; management and development of SJTPO’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP); administration of local project development efforts; oversight of SJTPO’s congestion management and relief planning efforts; Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning efforts; as well as management and oversight of consultant-led technical studies.
The salary range is $80,000 to $90,000 (Range 8), depending on qualifications and experience. Employees may be eligible for merit increases each year upon receipt of a satisfactory performance evaluation.

SJTPO is seeking an experienced professional for a full-time position that will be responsible for the data-driven safety initiatives, including the Local Safety Design Assistance Program, Local Safety Application Assistance Program, and implementation of the Countywide Local Road Safety Plans; bicycle and pedestrian planning, including planning and implementation of the Active Transportation Master Plan and support for the regional South Jersey Trails program; as well as management of consultant-led technical studies.
The starting salary range is $67,000 to $75,000 (Range 7), depending on qualifications and experience. Employees may be eligible for merit increases each year upon receipt of a satisfactory performance evaluation.
SJTPO offers a full benefits package as described below.
SJTPO is seeking a recent graduate or an early career professional for a full-time position that will be responsible for advancing SJTPO’s initiatives in resiliency; supporting the advancement of public transit, especially for the transit-dependent population; supporting SJTPO’s performance-based planning efforts, including data collection and analysis, as well as review and evaluation of new targets; researching, drafting, and implementing the region’s long-range Regional Transportation Plan (RTP); as well as supporting a variety of consultant-led technical studies.
The starting salary range is $56,000 to $62,500 (Range 6), depending on qualifications and experience. Employees may be eligible for merit increases each year upon receipt of a satisfactory performance evaluation.

Benefits for full-time employees
SJTPO offers employees a generous benefits package, administered through the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA), which serves as the host agency of SJTPO. The benefits package includes the following:
- Enrollment or transfer into the New Jersey Public Employees’ Retirement System (NJ PERS), which provides a defined benefit (pension) system, and the New Jersey State Health Benefits Program (NJ SHBP)
- Wide range of health insurance plan options (PPO, HMO, and High Deductible Plans), all of which include health, medical and prescription coverage with varying levels of premium cost-sharing by the employee. Dental and vision plans are provided at no cost to employees

- annual vacation leave beginning with twelve (12) working days, with vacation “cash-in” permissible

- Participant in the State of New Jersey Telework Pilot Program, which is subject to renewal on July 1, 2023, and currently allows SJTPO staff to work from home sixteen (16) hours per week. Continuation of this program after June 30, 2023, is contingent on guidance from the State of New Jersey
