SJTPO has been developing a Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) for each of the four counties through a consultant-led effort. A LRSP is a five-year actionable plan that provides a framework for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing roadway safety improvements on all county and municipal roads. The LRSP development process is tailored to address local issues and needs through continuous stakeholder involvement. The process ultimately results in a prioritized list of issues, risks, actions, and improvements that can be implemented to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on local roads.
As part of the public process for the LRSP effort, SJTPO will host a public meeting for each county’s draft LRSP. During each meeting, you will have the opportunity to view several display boards to learn about the plan, including the proposed projects and behavioral strategies to help achieve the goal of reducing fatal and serious injury crashes by 100% by 2050. Comment cards will be available to provide input on the draft plan.
