RESOLUTION 0801-03:
Approving a Contract Modification for the Commissioner’s Pike Phase III
Scoping Project
WHEREAS,
the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) is the
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) designated under federal law for the
southern region of New Jersey including Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and
Salem Counties; and
WHEREAS,
the adopted FY 2006-2008 Transportation Improvement Program includes the
Commissioner’s Pike Phase III Scoping Project; and
WHEREAS,
the Fiscal Year Federal Highway Administration Surface Transportation Program
funding was authorized for this project, and on July 24, 2006, the SJTPO Policy
Board approved the selection of Urban Engineers, Inc. as prime consultants for
this project; and
WHEREAS,
the total contract amount for the Phase III Scoping Project is $284,709; and
WHEREAS,
the Salem County Engineer determined that additional work relating to soil
borings was needed at an additional cost, as determined by the consultant, of
$37,959; and
WHEREAS, the
consultant determined that
additional funding to cover direct costs, including travel expenses and GPS work
was needed, at an additional cost of $5,660; and
WHEREAS, the
total amount of additional funding for the soil boring work and to cover direct
expenses is $41,619, for a revised total contract fee of $328,328; and
WHEREAS, the
consultant will retain the services of a vendor, Advanced Infrastructure Design
Inc., to do the soil boring work; and
WHEREAS,
this additional work and funding will be subject to NJDOT – Local Aid District
IV processing; and
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Policy Board of the South Jersey
Transportation Planning Organization hereby approves the attached amended scope
of work and cost estimate for this project; and
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Policy Board requests that the
