Kathleen Aufschneider joined the SJTPO Policy Board at its January 28, 2008 reorganization meeting.  She serves as Deputy Executive Director and Director of Policy and Planning for the South Jersey Transportation Authority, and she is responsible for business planning, economic development, legislative, policy matters, regional transportation planning and visioning for the Authority.  She also oversees the Human Resources, Communications and Marketing and Information and Tolls Technology Directors.

Ms. Aufschneider served as Chief Engineer for the SJTA from 1997 to 2005, responsibilities included planning, design and construction of capital improvements on the Atlantic City Expressway and the Atlantic City International Airport.   

Her experience includes roadway, airfield, passenger terminal, parking, building projects, intelligent transportation systems and facilities maintenance.  She is a Professional Engineer and Planner with 32 years of experience in transportation policy, planning and engineering.  She holds a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Transportation Planning and Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York and is a NJ Certified Public Manager.
